By February 12, 2016 No Comments

Ameyoko Market is spread across a street that is roughly about 400meters between Ueno station and Okachimachi station. The name ‘Ame’ in Ameyoko means candy in Japanese and several candy stores were established on this street post the second World war. Apart from candies you can find many other stores like clothing, cosmetics, electronics and food shops. A large number of customers at Ameyoko include people from China and Southeast Asia including Thailand. Another interesting feature of Ameyoko is that some of the shop owners are willing negotiate, and that is really rare in Japan! You can find some good deals on Japanese brands and brands that are popular worldwide. There are plenty of food available outside Japanese cuisine. You will be spoiled with choice trying to decide between the local food and cuisines from other countries!
