Mount Iwate

Iwate Mountain is the highest mountain in Iwate Prefecture. Located on the southwest side of Tawada Hachimantai National Park, the height of 2038 meters, shaped like a volcano, Fuji was named the Mount Fuji of the South. It has beautiful views throughout the four seasons. Mt. Iwate began to climb for the day. July 1 - the second week of October every year and many climbing courses are available for those who love to climb.

From Takizawa Station, take a taxi to Umagaeshi, take about 20 minutes or go by private car. Take the Tohoku Expressway to the Takizawa IC and continue for about 15 minutes.
